Obituary for Harry Arthur Koehler, Jr.
Harry Arthur Koehler, Jr., born January 31, 1943 and passed on December 14, 2018. He was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and great-uncle. He died from Pulmonary Lung Disease at Sun City Center Hospice House. Survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Boldt Koehler; son, Ryan Koehler; daughter, Robyn Koehler; brother, Mark Koehler; sister, Sharon Bojanski; grandson, Thomas Nelson and nieces and nephews. Born to Vela Gladfelder Koehler and Harry Koehler, Sr. in Grand Island, NE, he was raised in Pender, NE. He became an Eagle Scout and learned to fish and hunt. Graduated and enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, he returned to Nebraska to work in a lumber yard, where he accidentally cut off his own hand. Luckily for his Scout and Army training, he used a handkerchief as a tourniquet and rushed to find help. He was fortunate to have his hand reattached by a brilliant surgeon. After much therapy, he was able to use his hand as normal and became a Master Jeweler. He also completed his Instrument Pilot Ground School after a family friend took him around in a private plane. Not long after, he began flight lessons and obtained his Pilot’s license and purchased his first airplane. He started his own company, called Communication Professionals, Inc. from 1970-2000. His clientele included a few companies that grew to become Fortune 500. With his success, he met many people and made many dear friends. Through his career, he joined the Freemasons and Zuhrah Shrine Temple, Egypt Temple Shrine and Minnesota and Florida Scottish Rite, where he became the youngest President of the Shriners around 1980 and a 33rd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Zuhrah Shrine Flyers, an aviation enthusiast club that supports the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. This coming year he would have celebrated 50 years. After retirement from the Yellow Page Directory, he and Dottie moved to Nisswa, MN, where they spent the warmer months and were snowbirds in Florida during the harsh Minnesota winters. They recently became permanent Floridians as of 2018. They had settled into their beautiful house in Valencia Lakes in Wimauma, FL. He was proud of his new home with Dottie and just celebrated their 18th Wedding Anniversary. Because Harry had so many hobbies and talents, he lead a very fulfilling life. He was always making something with his hands and heart. He would get an idea and see it through. Everything from rock polishing to baking, wood working and making and designing jewelry. He will be so deeply missed by his wife and children. His wisdom and knowledge was undoubtedly his strength. Everything he set his mind to, he accomplished. He enjoyed the finer things of life and worked so hard to reach his goals.
